A real Policy & Poise situation
Standard + Context + Decision + CommunicationA day-before appointment change with a legitimate concern.
The evening before her appointment, a client said she could not wash her hair because she had recently had her eyebrows done and could not get them wet for two weeks. She asked to reschedule.
Rather than automatically waiving the policy, rescheduling, or responding rigidly, an accommodation was identified: add shampoo service without wetting her brows. The existing day-before cancellation consequence stayed clear if she chose to reschedule.
“Evening, you have the option to add the shampoo service it will bring your total to $185, I can shampoo your hair without wetting your brows. Other option: Your appointment will be considered a cancellation as it’s the day before your scheduled appointment. Cancellation fee is $83. Please let me know what you decide.
